Metadata: Compulsory fields

Modified on Wed, 03 May 2023 at 06:06 AM

Provider filename

Filenames should be unique and match the actual filenames of the track that you upload exactly.

The metadata cannot link to your audio or artwork files if the filenames are not identical.

Any differences between the metadata and the uploaded track filenames will cause the tracks to fail to process. Some common causes of this are differences in the case used (eg. ‘One of Two.wav’ and ‘One Of Two.wav’ will not match), and typos. File extensions should be included, eg. .wav.

Filenames should not contain characters such as : or / as these are likely to cause errors.

Provider track id

This should be your unique track identifier. If you don't have one, please just use the provider filename again here.

Primary Track

This field is compulsory if you have tracks with multiple versions. It is used to group together parent tracks with their alternative versions/cuts/etc. Enter the ‘provider track id’ of the parent track for each child track. The parent track should be left blank in this column.

Catalog

This should contain the title of the catalog or collection the tracks belong to (not album title, which goes under the ‘cd title / ref #’ column). If there is no catalog name then your provider name can be used here instead.

Composer & Publisher Data

This data is compulsory. The minimum requirements are the name, PRO & percentage splits of the composer/publisher(s). If a writer is unregistered then we are unable to accept their tracks.

For public domain tracks please enter ‘public domain’/PD/100 for name/PRO/split.

All composer/publisher splits should add up to 100.

Composer/publisher names should not be duplicated on the same track.
